Dr. Claude Allegre Nixes Global Warming
Claude Allegre, one of France's leading geochemists (and a socialist) now decries the global warming myth despite being one of the first scientists in the world to warn of the dangers of warming.
Twenty years ago, he wrote: "By burning fossil fuels, man increased the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which, for example, has raised the global mean temperature by half a degree in the last century."
Fifteen years ago, he signed a controversial and very public "World Scientists Warning To Humanity" letter concerning the perceived dangers of global warming.
But now, recent long term evidence does not support global warming according to Dr. Allegre and he has become an outspoken critic of "global warming". His landmark paper titled "The Snows of Kilimanjaro" actually site solid evidence that ice and snow is gathering instead of melting away at the furious rate spouted by Mr. Al Gore (inventor of the internet). This article does cite solid long term evidence that Antarctica is gaining ice, not losing it. He also states that Kilimanjaro's retreating snow caps, among other global-warming concerns, come from natural causes and cycles. Further, research indicates that where ice and snow caps melt, others form in other areas.
