Bailout for India

Former French Prime Minister Jacques Chirac said the Kyoto Protocol was "the first component of an authentic global governance."

Climate Wire, a subscription-only webzine focusing on the business and politics of global warming, reports a statement submitted by the Indian government to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (the parent of Kyoto) that embraces Chirac's vision.

"The providers of finance [for climate policies] cannot be discretionary 'donors,' but must be legally obligated 'assessees,'" India insisted in its statement.

Christopher Horner, whose book Red Hot Lies details how global warming alarmists use threats, fraud, and deception to keep people misinformed, points out that India's demand confirms warnings that globalist politicians use global warming fears to promote international taxation and forced transfers of wealth from the developed to the developing world.

The debate over global warming is about much more than just the science.
